The following species are listed as "numerous specimens" so may be deemed common: G. agilis, G. albipalpus, G. areator, G. brassicae, G. cursitans, G. discedens, G. exareolatus, G. hortensis, G. longicauda, G. longulus, G. mangeri, G. meigenii, G. melanocephalus, G. micrurus, G. proximus, G. rotundiventris, G. rufogaster, G. spurius (as G. ruficornis) G. viduus.

These are listed as "many specimens": G. anthracinus, G. avarus, G. balteatus, G. bicolor, G. cinctus, G. festinans, G. intermedius, G. liparae (now syn with G. areator), G. nigritulus, G. obscuripes.

Errata, Corrigenda & Comments*G. ruficornis* is misidentified *G. spurius*.
